Sup Mayfieldians from the friending meme! Ahhh, first off, deep, deep apologizes for being such a sucky friend. I usually comment around more than this, but ughhh laptop problems and then when I'm at the computer lab, I don't have LJ Login. But WELCOME TO MY JOURNAL which I usually don't f-lock unless I'm being depressing.

Introductions! I'm Scarfle, and I'm a college student with a sucky laptop. I'm pretty much the loser that people invite as a last-minute kindness. I don't have any particular special talents, except that when I fall half-asleep in class, I have half-jerky dreams that someone is IMing me and I need to respond. I'm more of an anime and manga person, and I have no idea what to write here. Nice to meet you kyun kyun desu kyaa, I will try to be a good friend waa. So, as promised, have a meme.

The How's My Driving? Meme

It just felt so recently that we had one of these--but then again, that just might be representative heuristics talkin' since the last time we did one of these I had to repost my comment like twenty times. If you see one just floating around, go ahead and comment on that one if you'd like, I get the notif just the same.

Also we were reading this pretty interesting article for sociology about shyness and I was just curious about what you guys thought about yourselves in terms of shyness. If you have time, can you answer these questions? Totes okay if you don't, or if you're too uh shy. This isn't for a sochul experuhment or anything, the confounding factors and biases would make me cry, but just out of curiosity.

1. Do you consider yourself as shy? (If yes, please answer the following questions! If not, you don't have to!)
2. Do you consider this a problem in functioning in everyday life?
3. In comparison to an "ideal person" operating in society, do you see yourself as lacking social skills? Do you see yourself as an operational member of society? Or something else?
4. Would you seek help for your shyness? Have you? If so, how would you go about it? (Medicine, therapy, self-help books?)
5. What is the most extreme case of shyness you have suffered?
6. And the most biased question of them all, do you consider me as more or less an operational member of society in comparison to you?

My left eye has been weirdly pulsating and throbbing lately. Hrnnnn it's probably nothing, but I went ahead and Googled it (because Internet diagnoses are always accurate!) and it said it might be stress and/or staring at the computer too long.

What has surprised you the most about me (if anything) since joining my flist/"friending me"? Was anything completely unexpected or have I always fit the picture of me you have in your head?

I just read the book instead of watching the movie. Because I was apparently too lazy to walk two blocks down to my local library, and equally as intimidated to borrow a DVD.

What do people bring to college, anyway? So far on my list I have [x] STUFFED ANIMALS and while I am sure my lovelies will bring me comfort I am just not confident that man can live only with cotton-filled beauties. Also, does. Does anyone have advice about college life. Other than "Be prepared!" because I vaguely feel it is a little late for that.

I listened to the Lion King version in three different languages tonight, though. Great songs, really.

I re-read the seventh book of Harry Potter and I have to admit, after following the series for so long, the ending was touching. Would be fab to hear what you thought of it. Of course, accompanied with Harry Potter is the Harry Potter fanfiction. And with a fandom this long in the making, there's just so many quality fanfiction out there. Anyway, meme post, because even I must indulge in memes despite my resistant stance.

M-My email inbox has apparently gotten so big that my computer can't open it anymore without freezing. ajlkdfjakld I-I guess it's time to get a new email address. I don't even know what to use as a name. Probably something I think is hip and trendy at the time, and five minutes later, it is stupid and juvenile and what was I thinking when I made that name. Going to be a pain to figure out how many accounts to transfer to that email.

On a strikingly random note, d-does anyone have an anime/manga that they love so much that they must recommend to me. I feel bad if I don't watch something over the summer. And I need some canon to app to Quo Vadis from. I feel it is an obligation to app there, for some reason.

And if anyone is considering to watch Bakemonogatari/Ghostory, it looks pretty good so far! SZS-vibes, as expected, but the storyline has been superb. I'm a fan of supernatural/psychological mystery romance with short story arcs. Oh, and for my hopefully non-spoilery thoughts for the end of Endless Eight of The Melancholy of Haruhi Suzumiya, I was completely and utterly moved. Truly. That is an inspiration to us all.
